GeForce Makes a Big Splash at CES 2023 with RTX 40 Series Laptops and Improved DLSS

2022 was an exciting year for GeForce gamers, with the launch of the highly acclaimed GeForce RTX 40 Series graphics cards and continued innovation in NVIDIA DLSS, NVIDIA Reflex, and ray tracing. The momentum for DLSS remains strong with over 250 DLSS games and creative applications now available, and an additional 50 DLSS 3 games either released or soon to be released. Ray tracing reached new heights with the release of Portal with RTX, a fully ray-traced version of Valve's classic game that demonstrated the full potential of NVIDIA RTX Remix and real-time ray tracing on GeForce RTX graphics cards. And with GeForce gamers now enjoying more responsive gameplay in over 50 titles thanks to NVIDIA Reflex, and new integrations being released every month, the future looks bright for this technology.

As we head into 2023, it's clear that this year will be just as exciting for GeForce. To kick things off, NVIDIA made a splash at CES 2023 with a host of announcements for gamers and creators that leverage the power of RTX to accelerate workloads and enable new possibilities.

GeForce RTX 40 Series Laptops

First on the list is the launch of GeForce RTX 40 Series laptops, which will be available starting February 8th. The RTX 4090 and 4080 laptops, powered by NVIDIA's Ada Lovelace Architecture, offer up to 3X more efficiency than previous-generation flagship models, allowing users to game at previously unimaginable detail levels and speeds and power through creative workloads in record time, all in thin and light form factors. With these laptops, gamers can play A Plague Tale: Requiem, Microsoft Flight Simulator, F1 22, Loopmancer, F.I.S.T.: Forged In Shadow Torch, and more at Ultra settings at over 100 FPS. Creators can collaborate in 3D scenes with Omniverse at a smooth 4K60 with DLSS 3, and export videos in half the time with Ada's dual AV1 encoders. And for those who want an ultimate immersive experience, the RTX 4090 and 4080 laptops can even connect to three 4K displays for use in professional-grade driving simulators.

On February 22nd, the RTX 4070, 4060, and 4050 laptops will also be available, offering RTX 3080 flagship-class performance at one-third of the power, while still maintaining thinness, acoustics, and thermals. With these laptops, gamers can play Cyberpunk 2077 at up to 80 FPS at 1440p on Ultra settings, and creators can render complex Blender scenes in minutes and take advantage of Ada's AV1 encoder for better quality video editing and live streaming. And for those who want a highly portable option, the high-performance GeForce RTX laptops are now available in super portable 14" devices.

Upcoming DLSS Improvements

In addition to the launch of the RTX 40 Series laptops, NVIDIA also made some exciting announcements about upcoming improvements to DLSS. These include an enhanced AI network for DLSS Frame Generation that better utilizes game engine data to improve UI stability and image quality during fast movement, an updated AI network for DLSS Super Resolution Ultra Performance mode that improves fine detail stability and overall image quality, and an updated AI network for NVIDIA DLAA that improves image quality, reduces ghosting, and improves edge smoothness in high contrast scenarios. Cyberpunk 2077, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, and Portal with RTX will be the first to receive updates with these new features in upcoming patches.

These are just a few of the exciting announcements that NVIDIA made at CES 2023, so be sure to watch the full presentation and stay tuned for more updates. And don't forget to let us know your thoughts in the comments!
